The Architecture Internship Program is designed to help international architectural students in Australia apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting with local businesses. 

It’s an ideal choice for those who want real-world experience that aligns with their career goals while earning academic credit for the internship. Domestic students are also welcome to apply.

Have you already graduated or are you not required to complete an internship as part of your studies? No problem. You can still join the internship program and pair it with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

For example, host companies for the Architecture Internship Program include:

• a sustainable urban development consulting firm,
• a design and project management company, and
• an established architectural service specialising in town planning.

Your Architecture internship experience will involve a range of tasks and skill development, depending on your host company. Your tasks may include any of the following types of learning experiences:

• contributing to design concepts and model-making,
• preparing construction documentation,
• gaining experience in using tools like SketchUp and AutoCAD,
• learning to create models in ArchiCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software,
• developing technical skills that bring classroom knowledge into practice,
• understanding the business side of architecture, and
• learning about project management and the end-to-end execution of architectural projects.
