Mechatronics Internship Program - Summer & Autumn 2024/2025

CareerDC Internships charge a fee for the coordination of each internship program. Program Overview

The 12-week Mechatronics Engineering Internship Program is designed for current engineering students and recent graduates in Australia looking to gain practical industry insights and academic credit.  

Who It’s For

The program is ideal for domestic and international students studying Mechatronics Engineering in Australia who want hands-on experience with local companies. 

If you’re a recent graduate or if your degree doesn’t require an internship, you can still enrol and combine your work experience placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

The program offers tailored placements that match your internship needs and career development interests. Examples of host companies include:

  • A precision engineering firm focusing on metal product design and assembly
  • A technical services provider working with the mining, construction, and aerospace sectors

Internship Tasks and Learning Experiences

Your internship experience will vary depending on the host company, but common learning opportunities may include:

  • Designing and drafting with 3D CAD for mechanical components
  • Assisting with material research, procurement, and managing handling processes
  • Developing prototypes, testing machines, and configuring control systems
  • Learning to build and test mechanical frameworks
  • Creating manufacturing drawings and using SolidWorks for engineering designs
  • Applying stress analysis to evaluate mechanical components
