Software Engineering - Mathematics - Intern

The Programme

GE Aerospace is offering the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and applications, specializing in aircraft engine design and analysis, in a technology base.  
 
Turkey Technology Center (TTC), is one of GE Aerospace's nine engineering centers throughout the world, supporting aviation-related R&D and innovation projects that expand with new investments. Our campus is in Kartal, Istanbul. 
 
In this position you will be working with a team of software engineers and design engineers to develop next generation engineering software solutions for the Aerospace Industry to invent the future of the flight. 
 
Only candidates who have been students for at least 6 months will be evaluated during the internship.

What You Will Do

  • Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project. 
  • Understand performance parameters and can assess application performance.

Required Skills and Abilities 

Requirements:

  • BSc (year 3/4) or MSc student of STEM. 
  • Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques. 
  • Understand core data structures and algorithms and have the ability to implement them using language of choice.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Good command of English & Turkish (reading/writing) 
  • Eager to learn. 
  • Open to communication. 
  • Team player. 
  • Self-motivated 
  • Hands on SW Coding Experience. 
  • Experience with Python or C++ or Fortran is a plus. 
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn. 
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively. 
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed. 
  • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.
