Bank Credit Risk Management - 2024 2H Intern

The Programme

Position: Intern (Undergraduate). 
Dept/Function: Credit Risk Management. 
Internship Period: Immediate. Full time for 6 Months.

What does the Credit Risk Management Team do in ING?

  • Ensure a safe, secure and compliant bank by effectively managing risks. 
  • Deliver independent credit risk analysis and assessment. 
  • Monitor risk migration elements including early warning indicators, unlikely-to-pay assessment, re-rating and etc. 
  • Maintain a critical and independent view from a credit risk perspective and provide feedback on people, credit proposals and processes. 
  • Ensure compliance, non-financial risk and adherence to minimum standards regarding date quality, overdue reviews, risk ratings, etc.  
  • Ensure full compliance of internal policy and local regulatory requirements.

What would you be doing?

Ensure the credit quality of ING Bank Seoul branch to be kept in check by assisting the following: 

  • Monitor and report credit limit excess. 
  • Monitor data quality, covenants, approval conditions, overdue reviews. 
  • Review credit terms and conditions in loan agreement and ISDA. 
  • Check CP (Conditions Precedents) documents in place. 
  • Prepare regular reports for Credit Risk Management Korea. 
  • Monitor risk migration factors (e.g. risk rating change, early warning indicators) by updating market development and researching equity market reports, credit rating agency reports and news articles, etc.

Required Skills and Abilities

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

  • Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's program. 
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, credit risk analysis and basic economics. 
  • Fluent in English and Korean, both verbally and written. 
  • Strong sense of responsibility, high level of self-motivation, can-do attitude and team player mindset. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, SharePoint.
